Kentucky Derby Coverage with Americas Bookie

Run for the Roses time at America’s Bookie.  First leg of the Triple Crown and we are excited to see what effect does American Pharoah have on the industry.  Last three years, the post time favorite has taken the title.  Nyquist has been the steady favorite in the weeks preceding the event.  Now we can wager on both the racebook and sportsbook side of Ab, so let us see who the leading contenders are for our sports investment purposes on Saturday May 7th.

Derby Day at America’s Bookie

Nyquist has distinguished himself from the field for two reasons.  First is that he is undefeated.  Legions of bettors hover around a horse that has hopes of remaining without a loss after the Derby.  Second is the manner in which he destroyed Mohaymen in the Florida Derby.  Four winners of this race have won the Kentucky Derby since 2000 with Orb being the latest of them three years ago.  What has people laying off of this horse is his Beyer Speed rating.  This stat quantifies the quality of the race the horse has ran. Several in the field have posted numbers higher than Nyquist’s Beyer rating.  Is he our favorite?  Yes but not a dominant one like Orb or American Pharoah were over their respective fields.

Shunning Shagaf?!

People are scared off of this horse for one horrendous result.  Wood Memorial got him a fifth place where he was a big favorite to take home the title.  For those that investigated this result, it was predicated on a very muddy track.  So is it a great horse that does badly in that environment or was he exposed?  Changes have been made by the training staff.  He is heavier and runs much better by himself now.  Churchill workouts have been glowing.  As long as the weather is dry, he is a top three tier talent here.

Like Mystery then Embrace Lani!

Want to go for a lot of mystery and an x factor?  This product of Japan will be a barometer of how far their national racing program has come.  Lani travels well so this might be the exception of horses from that part of the world doing average at this Derby.  This horse has won races on two continents.  At +4000, this is the home run shot that the linesmakers have under valued.  Not for the faint of heart but for big bucks, one has to be bold.
